CSP is the voice of the recruiting and staffing industry in California before legislative leaders, regulators, news media, business, and employees. For example, we successfully influenced the passage of several state assembly bills that deregulated employer-paid agencies to the less restrictive control of local statutes, eliminating the Bureau of Employment Agencies. We also fought oppressive I-9 requirements and confronted legislature when protesting unfair competition by a publicly funded entity. We have been at the forefront of efforts to provide more flexibility for employees work hours as well as receiving regular, timely pay. We fought against taxing services in general, which encompassed our industry.
We are leaders in professional development, providing educational opportunities for members to build their competitive advantage and continually raising the standards of excellence in the industry. CSP chapters have developed extensive training programs for new and experienced consultants in both Northern and Southern California.
To further accomplish the goal of increased professionalism and to facilitate cooperation between member firms, we have adopted stringent standards of ethical practice that all members have agreed to follow. These standards ensure that CSP members conduct their businesses in a legal, ethical and self-regulated manner that serve the best interests of all staffing firms, clients, and employees. Should disputes arise, CSP has an Ethics Committee to resolve the issues without unnecessary and costly litigation.
